Five New MFPs that Deliver Big Punch in Small Spaces

By Robert Covington

Space and time are at a premium in almost every logistics operation, and both impact the bottom line. Yet, you can’t sacrifice the ability to print on demand from within your warehouse or distribution center because walking to a centralized printing and administration location is greatly inefficient.

Must-haves for logistics efficiency

What’s really required is a small-form-factor multi-function printer (MFP) that’s sturdy and quick for your on-site logistics environment demands. It also must be robust enough to handle larger paper sizes (ledger/legal size) with ease. Last, but not least, it needs to be reliable and have a total cost of ownership low enough to help alleviate the 11.45% rise in U.S. logistics costs seen over the course of 2018.1

It’s hard to find all of these capabilities in an MFP, however this month Toshiba launched not one, but five MFPs that are a great fit for demanding logistics environments, or any environment where this powerful combination makes sense.

Call these five new models from Toshiba “Logistics Little Helper.” These network-ready, ledger-capable, monochrome MFPs include:

Features that boost function

The tabletop-ready 28PPM copy, print, and scan-enabled
e-STUDIO2822AM and the e-STUDIO2822AF (which adds faxing capabilities) are unique in that they can copy and print on ledger-sized paper, via the 50-sheet bypass. It’s their space-saving letter-size chassis that makes them an ideal choice for a warehouse setting or small workgroups that need all the functionality of a larger system but don’t have the room. Other features include:

• Built-in 250-sheet cassette

• Standard 50-sheet Reversing Automatic Document Feeder (RADF)

• Automatic Duplex Unit (ADU)

The new 28PPM e-STUDIO2823AM also provides copy, print and scan capabilities, but in a slightly larger footprint enabling ledger-sized paper support through the built-in 250-sheet cassette. Options include an additional 250 sheet cassette and 50-sheet RADF.

When productivity and throughput demand maximum efficiency, the
e-STUDIO2329A and e‑STUDIO2829A offer additional options including fax, PostScript, wireless and multiple additional drawers. This increased functionality and ability to hold up to 1,700 sheets of paper among five separately-addressable sources combined with the robust duty cycles of all five models – up to 64K impressions per month and toner yield of 17.5K pages2  – mean these systems can really go the distance.

When space and ease of use are a requirement, these models deliver the goods. So, whether you need to print packing lists or pick tickets, scan air-bills or fax proof-of-delivery notices, you’ll find a truckload of reasons to consider these little helpers to assist with your logistics tasks.
