Provisioning Devices

The ESPM Auto-Provisioner streamlines remote deployment by reducing manual setup time, minimizing errors, and ensuring consistent configurations across various MFD’s while making deployments more efficient and cost-effective

Prerequisite understanding: The administrator should verify that the MFD’s to be provisioned have already been discovered. For assistance with device discovery using the ESPM Device Radar, the administrator should reference the ESPM Administrator’s Guide for official guidance or visit the brief how-to’s captured in the Device Radar article.

The following steps provide an abbreviated step-by-step how to:

Context: [Replace this snippet with a some brief context of the steps that follow]

Step 1: Navigate to the MFD list submenu of the MFD Network menu.

Step 2: Navigate to the printer(s) you would like to Provision. Provisioning can be done to a single device or multiple devices simultaneously.
• For single device provisioning, select “Start Provisioning” or “Start Setup” (enter the “Admin name” and “Admin password” select “Save & Provision”)
• For multiple device provisioning, check the box for each device, select the “rocket icon” above the “Printer name” column “Auto-provision All”, enter the “Admin name” and Admin password if prompted, Select “Save & Provision”.

Step 3: If not already installed, a redirect will be made to install the “MFD Auto-Provisioner Chrome Extension. Select “Download the extension”, and then select “Add to Chrome” to install the extension, confirm the message “Auto-provisioner has been installed” and close the tab.

Step 4: From the MFD Auto-provisioning window select MDS mode or Non-MDS as the Auto-provisioning Strategy and select “Start” to begin provisioning.

Step 5: Status will show “Complete” when done.

Step 6: If an error is encountered select “View log” to determine the reason for failure.

Step 7: If Non-MDS was used as Strategy, “Pending sync” will be shown in the MFD List Provisioning Column.

Step 8: To complete NON-MDS provisioning, Launch the ESPM application Icon at the MFP panel.

Step 9: Verify the MFD(s) are now showing as Provisioned with a green check mark.

Done!
