How can we help?

Mobile Password Security

There are situations where a user may want to log out of an authenticated print session, even if authentication is not currently required due to a valid, unexpired print token. This article provides a quick guide on how to log out of a print session when needed.

Prerequisite understanding: Users should be familiar with mobile printing and mobile print authentication, although not required for this article.

The following provides an abbreviated step-by-step guide on how to proceed:

Context: When a user authenticates on their mobile device for ESPM mobile printing, they won’t need to authenticate every time they print. Instead, a print token is generated, creating a secure print session that stays valid for an unspecified duration. Additionally, this article is helpful in scenarios where a mobile device is shared among multiple users with different ESPM credentials.

Step 1: Open a printable document stored on your mobile device

(Note: This step is for setup purposes; the document will not actually be printed.)

Step 2: Tap the “Share” icon (also known as the “Action” button) at the bottom of the screen

Step 3: Tap “Print

Step 4: If not already selected, choose the ESPM print queue in the printer field

Step 5: Tap the “Information” button (the circle with the lower case “i”) next to the secure lock icon

Step 6: Scroll down to the “Forget Username and Password” field and tap it

Done!
