iOS Mobile Printing – Setup
How to set up mobile printing
Mobile printing enables users to print documents directly from their mobile devices. By selecting a file, users can send it to their ESPM print queue for easy printing. This article guides administrators through the quick setup of a cloud print queue for seamless iOS printing.
Prerequisite understanding: The administrator must have a cloud pull-print queue (commonly referred to as a cloud print queue) already configured, with users assigned and granted print access to the queue.
The following provides an abbreviated step-by-step guide on how to proceed:
Context: The ESPM administrator must enable iOS mobile printing on the specific cloud print queue allocated to their users.
Step 1: Navigate to the “MFD Network” section
Step 2: Go to the “Queues” sub-menu
Step 3: Click on the top-level print queue that you want to enable for iOS mobile device printing
Step 4: Click the vertical ellipsis (3 dots) next to “Allocate MFDs“
Step 5: Select “Edit“
Step 6: Check the box next to “iOS Printing“
Step 7: Click “Update” to apply the changes
Step 8: Click “Close“
Step 9: Return to the vertical ellipsis (3 dots) from Step 4 and select “Download Config File“
Step 10: Share the downloaded ESPM config file with the intended users
Done!
Recommendations: It is recommended that the administrator utilized Mobile Device Management (MDM) to distribute the ESPM configuration file for security best practices and to efficiently update configurations as needed.
