Direct Printing
How to set up direct printing (without security)
In certain office and warehouse environments, the focus is often on print speed rather than print security. In these cases, administrators may opt out of using secure or pull-printing. This article guides administrators through setting up direct printing environments.
Prerequisite understanding: The administrator should be familiar with TopAccess and the ESPM administrator’s portal.
The following provides an abbreviated step-by-step guide on how to proceed:
Context: Direct printing will allow the administrator to configure printing environments where print jobs are executed without security restrictions.
Step 1: Navigate to the “MFD Network” menu
Step 2: Select the “MFD List” sub-menu
Step 3: Identify the printer you wish to configure for direct printing
Step 4: In the “Actions” column of the selected printer, click the “Edit” button
Step 5: Click the “Advanced Config” button at the top of the screen
Step 6: Scroll down to the “Secure Print Release” section, and select “Exclude” from the dropdown next to “PIN release” or confirm it is already selected
Step 7: Click the “Back” button, then click “Update Printer” to save changes
Step 8: Return to the “MFD List” screen from Step 2, navigate to the “Actions” column again, and click the vertical ellipsis (3 dots) for the updated printer; then select “Open Admin Panel“
Step 9: Log in to TopAcess with your admin credentials
Step 10: Click the Administration tab > Setup (Sub Tab)
Step 11: Click the Printer menu
Step 12: Navigate to the General Settings section, then select the “None” from the “Print Restriction for Print Job” dropdown
Step 11: Click “Save” to apply the changes
