Device Radar
Discovery using Device Radar
Discovering MFDs on a network streamlines configuration by automatically identifying available devices, saving time and minimizing errors. With ESPM’s Device Radar, MFD discovery ensures centralized management, seamless compatibility, and quickly builds a comprehensive inventory of MFDs within your print environment.
Prerequisite understanding: The administrator should have a general familiarity with the ESPM administration portal.
The following provides an abbreviated step-by-step guide on how to proceed:
Context: Running the Device Radar is a crucial step in identifying all available print devices on your network. Once the devices are discovered, the administrator can easily proceed with provisioning them for print, ensuring seamless integration into your print environment.
Step 1: Navigate to the “Device Radar” sub-menu under the “Printer Network” section
Step 2: Click the “Continue to Device Radar” button
(Note: If prompted by your browser, check the box to “Always allow esp.toshiba-solutions.com” to open links in the associated app.)
Step 3: Select “Open Toshiba Elevate Sky Print Management” when prompted
Step 4: Choose either “Automatic Scan” to search for printers on the network, or “Manual Scan” to add a single device or define custom IP address ranges for a tailored search.
Step 5: Select the devices you want to add to the ESPM “Printer List”
Step 6: Click “Continue”
(Note: The button will display the total number of selected devices.)
Step 7: Toggle “Advanced Options” to “ON” and expand the list of found printers to make any necessary adjustments.
(Note: A technician can assign each device to its corresponding room (see section, Configuring Elevate Sky Print Management Services on a MFD / Printer of the ESPM Administrator and End User Guide for more details).
Step 8: Click “Add Printers” and confirm the message, “XX printers have been added to your printer list”
