Device Monitoring
How to perform device monitoring using ESPM
ESPM leverages device monitoring through SNMP to deliver real-time insights into MFD availability and uptime, allowing administrators to track status and identify potential issues proactively.
Prerequisite understanding: The administrator should be familiar with Toshiba TopAcess and have at least a basic understanding of SNMP versions 1 and 2.
The following provides an abbreviated step-by-step guide on how to proceed:
Context: SNMP support is crucial for organizations with existing SNMP ecosystems. This article assists administrators in monitoring MFDs enrolled in the ESPM service.
Step 1: Navigate to the “Printer Network” menu
Step 2: Locate the devices you want to enable SNMP monitoring for and check the box next to each one
Step 3: Find the configuration wrench icon, and click on it
(Note: Hovering over the icon will display the text “Apply a config“.)
Step 4: Scroll down to the “Monitoring” section of the configuration dialog
Step 5: Select the SNMP version enabled in Toshiba TopAccess for the MFD
Step 6: Click “Apply Config” to save the changes
(Note: After applying the monitoring configuration, a pop-up will appear displaying the number of devices to be monitored (“Matched”) and the number of those devices where a configuration was applied (“Modified”). Any devices already configured will be listed as “Unmodified.” )
Done!
Recommendations: Administrators are encouraged to review the ESPM Administrator/User Guide for a deeper understanding and step-by-step guidance on “collecting the device status of multifunctional devices using SNMP.”
