At Toshiba, inclusion isn’t just a policy — it’s a core value. On December 3rd, International Day for Persons with Disabilities, we honor the contributions, resilience, and diversity of persons with disabilities. This day also reaffirms our commitment to a workplace and community where everyone feels supported and truly belongs.

The importance of disability inclusion

Approximately 13% of the U.S. population identifies as having a disability. Yet, only 22.7% of people with disabilities are employed, compared to 65.5% of those without disabilities. Many disabilities are invisible, including chronic pain, mental health conditions, neurodivergence, and learning differences. While unseen, these conditions can deeply impact daily life, work performance, and engagement.

At Toshiba, we recognize these challenges and work to create a supportive and inclusive environment where all employees and customers can thrive.

Supporting employees and customers of all abilities

Our commitment to inclusion extends beyond our walls to the customers we serve. We strive to create accessible, equitable, and welcoming products, services, and experiences. By supporting people of all abilities — employees and customers alike — we foster a culture of respect, understanding, and belonging that strengthens our entire community.

My Pompe diagnosis pushed me to become a champion for my own health and for others facing the disease. Whether supporting customers at work or advocating through awareness and research, I’ve found purpose. Toshiba has given me not just a fulfilling career, but a community that supports and values me—and that means everything.

Delivering exceptional experiences for all

One of our core values at Toshiba is to “Deliver the Exceptional”. We go above and beyond to provide exceptional client experiences in every aspect of our business.

Our multifunction products include ADA Section 508 accessibility features that empower individuals with disabilities, enhance productivity, and foster inclusion. By designing for accessibility, we ensure that employees and customers feel valued, supported, and included.

These efforts extend beyond the workplace, contributing to a more equitable and inclusive society for all.

Celebrating inclusion and belonging

International Day for Persons with Disabilities reminds us that support and belonging are essential — whether disabilities are visible or invisible. At Toshiba, we celebrate the talents, achievements, and contributions of all team members and strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and included.

By fostering understanding, accessibility, and inclusion, we strengthen our connections, improve services, and build a community where everyone can thrive.
