Microsoft Entra ID (ME-ID) is Microsoft’s cloud-based Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution, designed to secure identities (users, apps, and devices) and manage access to cloud resources like Microsoft 365 and thousands of third-party SaaS applications using features like Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). It helps with on-premises Active Directory (AD) by creating a hybrid identity environment, allowing users to leverage their existing AD credentials for secure, modern access to both on-premises and cloud services via a synchronization tool like Entra Connect.
