Director of Field Marketing
In her current role as Director, National Field Marketing, for Toshiba America Business Solutions, Salley Thornton oversees public relations, digital marketing and social media as well as marketing communications for Toshiba Business Solutions, the direct channel for TABS.
Prior to joining Toshiba in 2003, Salley worked in public relations for the American Red Cross; print and television news; local morning radio; and has lectured at local colleges. She is a current board member for the American Heart Association, Rochester Chapter, and has volunteered in leadership roles with the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, Episcopal Church, Seneca Park Zoo, AIDS Community Health Center, and various special events and nonprofits.
Salley’s strengths are dedication, enthusiasm and leadership, and she thrives on challenges, particularly those that expand the company’s reach. She is most passionate about learning and helping guide students on their career path, which lead her to starting college internship programs within each company she worked since her own graduation.
In 2018, Salley was recognized in Rochester, New York, as a Woman of Excellence for her professional experience, community involvement, and mentor leadership. Other recognition includes the local American Marketing Association and the Rochester Business Journal Top Forty Under 40. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in speech communications from Mount Union College in Alliance Ohio, and an executive MBA from the Saunders School of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology.
