Toshiba has designed the WILLPOS B10 for use in grocery, specialty, mass merchandiser, and hospitality environments using high quality ruggedized components. |

Toshiba designs hardware specifically to withstand the rigors of the retail environment. The WILLPOS B10 is designed to provide a stable platform that can operate for 5 or more years at 24 hours, 7 days a week. During the life cycle of the product replacement parts will be available, so in the event of a component failure, the parts can easily be ordered and replaced for years after the life cycle. Typical consumer grade computer components, adapted for sale in a retail environment, have a useable life of 18 to 36 months (assuming only 8 to 9 hours of use per day), and components get changed frequently, so when components fail they can be hard or impossible to repair. This lack of long term support means a complete system replacement may be necessary every 2 to 4 years. The WILLPOS B-10 will substantially reduce total costs over the entire serviceable life of the product comparatively. |

The ability to mount horizontally or vertically allows the WILLPOS B-10 to be positioned on top of a cash drawer or under the counter. Measuring in at 280mm x 285mm x 95 mm the WILLPOS-B10 will fit in most existing retail designs. |

From the unique front loading hard disk drive to the safety mechanism preventing access to components while power is supplied, the WILLPOS B-10 is designed for quick and safe servicing. |

Along with the WILLPOS B-10, Toshiba has also designed the TRST-A00, PKBST-52, and the DRW-B10 to provide a complete low cost solution for many retail locations. Additionally, with up to 6 COM ports and 4 USB ports (2 normal and 2 powered) available, many other Toshiba legacy peripherals and third party peripherals can be attached to meet any location’s needs. Toshiba has developed drivers for the WILLPOS B-10 to support many operating languages including Windows XP Professional (SP3), WEPOS Version 1.1, POSReady 2009, SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11, MS-DOS 6.22, OPOS, Java POS for Windows, and Java POS for Linux. This allows the transition from existing hardware to the WILLPOS-B10 without needing to purchase or program a new retail software package that supports a specific operating system. |
