Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. today announces it has won the 2014 Bronze Stevie® Award within the best business-to-business product category for unveiling the world's first multifunction product (MFP) incorporating erasable toner, the e-STUDIOTM306LP/RD30. The award was presented at the 12th Annual American Business Awards event held recently in San Francisco.
The availability of Toshiba's innovative product represents a paradigm shift in how organizations may print while promoting a new era of corporate environmental sensibility. Through its unique toner - the device is capable of erasing images and text output allowing for the reuse of the same sheet of paper. By reusing the same sheet as many as five times, users dramatically minimize paper usage while lessening carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by up to 57 percent, as validated by the British Standards Institute, a global national standards organization.
"We're delighted to recognize Toshiba for their innovative thinking in developing the world's only multifunction product with erasable toner enabling for the reuse of the same sheet of paper again and again," said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards. "Moreover, we congratulate all of the Stevie Award winners, and thank them for the inspiration their achievements have stimulated."
The American Business Awards - open to all organizations in the United States - are one of the nation's premier business awards program. The award's name, Stevies, is derived from the Greek word for "crowned."
"Considering all of the other nominees vying for this year's Stevie, to receive recognition for our eco MFP with one of the nation's foremost business honors is pretty special," said Toshiba America Business Solutions Chief Marketing Executive, Bill Melo. "This award is a testimony to our premier engineering team that is always seeking ways to become more environmentally sound."
More than 3,300 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Most Innovative Company of the Year, Management Team of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year, and Executive of the Year, among others. Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 240 executives nationwide who participated in the judging process.
Toshiba has won two other Bronze Stevie Awards this year within the best sales event and most creative and informative corporate video categories.
